JUNIOR GEOMETALLURGIST / ECONOMIC GEOLOGISTS
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Excellent understanding of exploration techniques, deposit models, geologic assessments, compilation and graphics software is required. The candidate should possess the following skills:
- Understanding of ore deposit models and related alteration regimes.
- Knowledge of ore minerals, their chemistry and paragenesis.
- Familiar with geochemical sampling QC and analysis, metallurgy and mineral development, and geostatistics.
- Fluency with geological mapping and 3D software such as Datamine, GEMCOM, Leapfrog, or GO-CAD.
- Contributing to the generation and evaluation of improvement ideas and problem solving.
- Ability to organize data and write reports.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
This position requires initiative, creativity and commitment. Registration as or ability to register with a professional society such as PEO or ACPO is mandatory. More important than experience, you need to truly love your job as a geologist and be willing to take on a challenge.
REPORTING TO
For this entry level position, the Junior Economic Geologist will report to a Manager of the Geomet group and will be responsible for the accurate and timely reporting of test work, modeling exercises and client reports.
SKILLS
- University degree in earth sciences, geology or geochemistry or a related discipline is required.
- Minimum 3 years of geology experience, ideally including recent exploration exposure.
