Co-op Metallurgical Laboratory Technologist

We have the following Co-Op opportunities based out of our Offices in Lakefield (just north of Peterborough, Ontario), Fort McMurray, and Vancouver.

METALLURGICAL LABORATORY TECHNOLOGIST

Preference will be given to Intermediate level and above students in the following programs: Chemical Engineering and Chemistry

The co-op student will be accountable for assigned work as a team member in the mineral beneficiation group, the gold recovery group or the hydrometallurgical group. The level of work will be delegated on the basis of the company needs, and the student’s education level and/or previous relevant experience.

The work will consist of:

• Conducting routine procedures on various projects at a base level
• Working as a team member conducting metallurgical test procedures involving physical and/or chemical metallurgical separations. The processes involved will vary from simple to extremely complex integrated circuits.
• Timely and accurate reporting of all data generated

You must have the ability to work shifts which include 24/7 coverage, with 8, 10 or 12 hour shifts. A high degree of physical mobility is required for this position. You will be responsible for following SGS Lakefield Health & Safety policies and other Company procedures at all times.
